Corte Altavilla

Never take room 111. Is located on the first floor next to the elevator. The whole night and day some kind of machine/engine is starting and stopping EVERY minute of the hour. So during the night you can barely sleep. Room 111 has a lower level sleeping room. In the dark you don’t see/expect this. Great risk you fall over on the floor. The room is located near an alley with Italians walking through. We all know: Italians talk loud!! Then somewhere in the night it is necessary to ride the container with glass through the medieval alley and empty it!!! Why!?!? And this was not the only container. The building is medieval so a lot of noises from the room above via the ceiling. Overall a bad experience without any sleep of this stay!!!!

My husband and I were gifted a two night stay at this hotel, we had added an extra night and would like to make my experience known to help others deciding whether to book. 1) Service - Nobody offered to help us with our luggage and we were left to wheel/ carry all of our bags throughout the hotel and down steps - Upon check-in we noticed that the matrimonial room booked had two single mattresses (of different heights) pushed together and, upon asking for a room with a double mattress as requested, there was nothing they could do about it- unless we paid an extra €100 or so for an upgrade, thus we were left to sleep on a very uncomfortable bed which gave us back pain. 2) Cleanliness - Dirty bed linen with hairs - Toothpaste splatters in the bathroom and a shelf with cup marks/ black bits that had clearly not been cleaned - Dirty toothbrush holder (as pictured) 3) Unclear on prices - Over the phone we had agreed €80 for an extra night (for reference the price via booking.com was €88) however upon check-out the receptionist rather rudely demanded €140. This was a big shock to us as we had agreed a different price beforehand and had we known we wouldn't have stayed, especially as in my opinion the hotel is not worth even €80. -Note that the two small water bottles in the fridge are not offered (as they do in most other hotels) but there is a small sign reversed and tucked down the back of the cupboard stating €1.50 each bottle. In all, I am in the industry myself and take making negative reviews very seriously, however, my experience at Corte Altavilla was simply not up to standard.

Myself and boyfriend stayed at this charming hotel for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is tucked away down a beautiful little street in the gorgeous town of Conversano. In the evening there are festoon lights everywhere which makes the whole town look so magical. The reception team were lovely and helpful, and made the progress of checking in and checking out very simple. Our room was basic, but perfect for what we needed. The only downside was the aircon didn’t work and there were no in room tea & coffee making facilities. The food at the hotel was lovely too, in my opinion the fried eggs could have been cooked for a little while longer, but the croissants and hot chocolate on offer were delicious. We also had a wonderful 5 course evening meal, which was lovely and very filling. The restaurant team were super as well, I didn’t get their names but they were attentive and friendly. The spa was stunning, a little sanctuary, we both had the basic spa experience and an olive scrub which left us feeling very relaxed. Thank you Corte Altavilla for a wonderful stay, we will recommend to all.

Very well located hotel in the heart of Conversano's historical center. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is the state of the rooms: they need refurbishment and the place could be stunning. Furniture is pretty minimal and old style (for example no power outlet close to the desk). I've been there several times and will be back. Reaching the hotel by car might result very tricky so my advice is to drive straight to the dedicated parking which is a 5 minutes walk.
